By popular demand, effective November 1, 2008, EFA is expanding our “Discovery Fight” offering to put more focus on the objective, and to help broaden the experience.  EFA’s new program offers a 1 hour flight for a package price of just $199!

    Most people taking this ’sample’ introductory flight lesson discover flying is more fun than they dreamed.Take this opportunity to learn about Private Pilot License training. Do you dream of flying?  Do you look up when you hear an airplane fly overhead and wonder how it feels to be in the pilot seat?  EFA offers a fun and affordable way to explore whether pursuing your Private Pilot Certificate is right for you. 

Discovery Flights have been around for quite a while, and provide a means for aspiring pilots to get a first-hand experience in the fun and challenge of actually flying and controlling an aircraft in flight.  Many of you have logged lots of time on “Flight Simulator”, and already have a good deal of knowledge in the elements that go into a being a pilot, but there is nothing like the real thing! 

  • The flight will be a true “hands on” experience, letting you actually fly the airplan and understand the use, and feel the effects of the flight controls.

  • The flight time and instruction received can be “logged” and credited toward the FAA requirements for a Private Pilot Certificate as lesson #1 in the training curriculum, once you have enrolled in our flight training program.

  • All Discovery Flight Lessons will be at a package price of $199, which will include a one hour flight, the ground briefings, and the preflight inspection associated with traditional flight lessons.

  • You will meet your EFA Instructor when you enter our flight center, and be given a tour of our facilities and learning resources, and have a preflight briefing.  Walking to your plane, you will see EFA’s dedicated line crew servicing our exceptional fleet of aircraft.

  • You will learn many interesting facts about your aircraft as your instructor coaches you through preflight inspection, run-up, and taxi to the active runway… but the best felling will be taking the controls, applying full throttle, and taking off for a 1 hour training flight.

  • You may elect to bring along a passenger*, although we caution against the potential distraction.  Or, if you merely want an airplane ride to do some sightseeing, with or without the passenger, let the dispatcher know when you make your reservation.

*-The total weight of the occupants can occasionally exceed the aircraft’s weight limitations with full fuel tanks.  Let us know the details beforehand.

EFA will continue to honor any gift certificates purchased or reservations made for the previous style of a half-hour flight experience, priced at $129, through December 31, 2008.  After that time, we will offer a credit against the price then in effect.  The new price is $199.
