She was the recipient of the 2009 Doug Yost Aerobatic Scholarship – one that promotes air safety through aerobatic training. She wrote a wonderful series of articles in Sport Aerobatics magazine about her experiences while training for her Private Pilot’s License and her aerobatic lessons. Her passion for aviation and ‘getting hooked’ on aerobatics is apparent in her stories! Even though Lise, a university teacher and artist, has been a Private Pilot for less than 2 years, flying has become an important part of her life – something she never could have imagined.

We hear about many aircraft with a ‘history’, but we don’t always see one. Owner and Mass resident, Steve Sides, brought his Cessna to us for maintenance early January. When we heard about it’s history, we were floored. As a proponent for aviation and the pilot of the famed “Spirit of St. Louis”, Charles Lindbergh’s legacy lives on in this aircraft. His legacy also lives on with his grandson, Erik Lindbergh, who also flew same transatlantic flight in 2002 to revisit the historic flight of his grandfather 75 years later.

In 2009, Executive Flyers Aviation’s (EFA) state-of-the-art aircraft service facility in North Andover, Mass. became an official Lycoming Authorized Service Center giving pilots and owners a proven option for servicing their airplanes and purchasing genuine Lycoming parts.

To earn the designation, EFA was required to meet Lycoming specified equipment and facility requirements, maintain required staff training levels, meet or exceed required levels of quality and professionalism, and be capable of handling fly-in customers.

“These standards were set to identify only the best-trained, best-operated service centers,” said Mike Everhart, Lycoming director of Distribution Management & Customer Service. “By identifying and working with shops that meet or exceed our standards, we are building a quality customer support network of dependable, honest, competent and professional service providers that will be known for their technical capabilities and the highest standards associated with the Lycoming brand.”

EFA was established in 1964 and provides pilots and owners services that include: flight training and aircraft rental, sales and maintenance.

Lycoming supports its Authorized Service Centers with online training programs and by designating the centers as the exclusive source for service and support of Lycoming’s soon-to-be available advanced technology – the new iE2 (integrated electronic engine) and the new IO-233-LSA Light Sport Engine.

Lycoming Authorized Service Centers are also the primary source of Lycoming Echelon STCs, Lycoming’s own supplemental type certificate program to upgrade legacy aircraft with modern power plants.

For more information, contact Matt Goulian, Director of Maintenance at (781) 274-7477.
