Veterans GI Bill Benefits

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will pay up to 60% of certain individuals’ advanced flight training costs.

Eligibility:

  • Active duty
  • Reservist
  • National Guard
  • Veteran
  • Veteran’s dependent (spouse, child)

Available Programs:

  • Instrument (INST)
  • Commercial (COMM)
  • Multi-Engine (ME)
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII)
  • Certified Flight Instructor Multi (MEI)

EFA provide the VA with an approved course catalog for distribution to potential students. It contains all the information you need to get started.

Please keep in mind that the VA provides benefits for Advanced Rating programs only.  You must have a Private Pilot Certificate prior to qualifying for VA benefits.  VA qualified students must also obtain a Second Class medical certificate.

To apply for benefits:

  1. Fill out VA Form 22-1990. We have this form in our office or you can apply online. You can also download this form at: http://www.va.gov/vaforms.
  2. Come to our office and fill out VA Form 22-1999. We will fill out the form with you and send it to the VA Department. This form certifies that you are enrolled in our program of instruction. This form is currently not available online.
