EFA was founded in 1964 by Myron Goulian.  He was the company’s only Flight Instructor and EFA had a single Piper Cherokee 140. From our first counter in the lobby of the Civil Air Terminal at Hanscom Field, to our modern training center, state-of-the-art maintenance facility, and cutting edge aerobatic programs, EFA has been the choice for  flight training in New England for more than 40 years.

Myron Goulian learned to fly in the 1940s, became a licensed pilot at the age of 16, and logged over 30,000 flight hours in his career. A former crop duster, US Army helicopter mechanic in the Korean War, and airline pilot instructor for Northeast Airlines, Myron enjoyed flying but his passion was training students.

As the company grew, Myron handpicked the best flight instructors, invested in training technologies, expanded the fleet, and became an aircraft dealer. Customers could now fulfill all their dreams of flight:  from first take off to becoming a well trained owner of their own aircraft.

From our primary flight center at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts, to our new 5-star service and support facility at Lawrence Municipal Airport in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the EFA team is able to provide for all your aviation needs. From flight training and aircraft ownership, to any service and maintenance requirements, EFA will work with you on an individual basis to create a program that best fits your situation. In addition, Executive Flyers is able to offer an exciting opportunity for new aircraft owners through a leaseback arrangement. This program allows customers to purchase an aircraft from our Cessna representative and then lease the aircraft back to the school for flight training. With maintenance provided at our new facility in Lawrence, Executive Flyers is able to provide comprehensive repair and inspection support for both new and existing aircraft owners. Myron’s wife Rita operates EFA today with her sons Michael and Matthew Goulian.  EFA President Michael Goulian, is a US national aerobatic champion and developed EFA’s highly regarded Unusual Attitude and Acrobatic Flying courses. Matt Goulian is a Commercial Rated fixed wing and helicopter pilot, and a Licensed Aviation Mechanic. Matt is also EFA’s Director of Maintenance and Aircraft Sales.

In our four decades of flight instruction, EFA has trained thousands of pilots who fly for fun or for business. Many have made aviation a career in the airlines or armed services. We’ve even provided initial flight training for two space shuttle astronauts.
